Ambitions Academies Trust is seeking to appoint a committed individual to develop and implement the Trust’s safeguarding strategy.
The Assistant Director – Safeguarding & Attendance will develop and implement the Trust’s safeguarding strategy to ensure that all our students and staff work within both a compliant and strong culture of safeguarding and ensure the delivery of a safe and secure environment for each school community. This role will hold responsibility for all aspects of the welfare of all students across the Trust.
To lead on the development of Trust policy and practice across the Trust, ensuring that safeguarding continues to be effective.
To lead colleagues across all academies in their work to develop and improve standards of behaviour, academic progress, attainment and personal development through improved attendance.
Core responsibilities for this role will include:
We are looking for someone with a clear understanding of the distinctive nature of academies and proven experience of successfully managing safeguarding within a complex setting.
The ideal candidate will work to create a stimulating and safe learning environment where children are encouraged in developing self-esteem and respect for others.
Essential to the role are highly developed skills in performance management, recognising high performance and tackling underperformance through to resolution. You will also have a good understanding of the barriers to outstanding attendance and all safer recruitment and safeguarding procedures.
You will be articulate and approachable, with excellent communication skills. The ability to inspire, challenge, motivate and empower others to carry forward a shared vision for safeguarding and attendance policies and procedures is vital.
You will be a role model of best practice with a professional demeanour that engenders confidence, trust and respect in others.
